On Saturday morning 29 July 2023, a memorial shoot was held at the Port Pirie Rifle Club for Trevor Wilkes. Sadly Trevor passed away recently as a result of the insidious disease, pancreatic cancer.
The shoot was well attended by the Port Pirie members, 2019 F Standard State team members (of which Trevor was a member) and members from other clubs.
In the afternoon there was a very touching and memorable memorial service attended by family and friends held in the Port Pirie Rifle Club clubrooms for Trevor. Joyous, humorous and sometimes teary eulogies were spoken by Trevor's wife Lisa and his great friend and mate Malcolm Hill. Musician Max sang a couple of Trevor's favourite songs which was followed with nibbles and drinks. A very fitting celebration of a wonderful, loving, selfless and caring man's life. A man who will always be remembered. RIP Trev.
"As stated pancreatic cancer is an insidious disease and money is urgently required to help research a cure. Increasingly people who have lost someone to pancreatic cancer are looking for ways to pay their respects and celebrate their life in a meaningful way.
A donation to PanKind given in memory of family or friends can provide a lasting tribute to those close to you, and help us in our work to find a cure for pancreatic cancer."
If you would like to make a donation towards looking for a cure for pancreatic cancer in Trevor's honour, please follow the link: https://pankind.org.au/ways-to-give/give-in-memory/
