Join Maitland Rifle Club for a weekend of shooting on 17–18 October 2026, featuring a Saturday afternoon lead-up shoot and Sunday’s Open Prize Meeting.

 

Saturday 17 October — Lead-up shoot

Shooting commences at 12 noon.

  • Distances: 300 then 500 yards.
  • Entry fee: $10, all grades.
  • Two optional sighters and 10 counting shots at each range.
  • Badges for all grades.
  • Sausage in bread available for an early lunch for $2.
  • Roast tea and dessert available for $15.

 

Sunday 18 October — Open Prize Meeting

  • Distances: 500, 600 and 600 yards.
  • Entry fee: $50, all grades, including a meal ticket for the day.
  • Two optional sighters and 10 counting shots at each range.
    Range and aggregate trophies for TR A, B and C; F Standard A and B; F Open; and F/TR.
  • OPM badges presented to the top 33% in each grade, with a minimum of three shooters per grade required to qualify for badges and range prizes. Badges will be ordered and made after the event.

The programme also features the Frank Bradshaw Medallion match. The top four TR shooters and top four F Class shooters will compete side by side in a one-sighter, eight-shot match for the perpetual trophy. The winner, determined using the CTV scoring system, will receive the Frank Bradshaw medallion.

 

Location and facilities

Maitland Rifle Range is approximately 1 km north of Maitland. Please refer to the SARA range map for directions.

Camping is available on the range from Friday afternoon, with toilets and showers on site. Morning tea, luncheon and a wet canteen will also be available.
